We are the first martial arts institution to follow standardized academic systems for our coaching to avoid ambiguous assessment practices. Our goal is to build a community that adopts strong mindsets to succeed in the future while producing athletes and coaches who are well-versed in the world of martial arts.
Meet Our Founder
Aiman Zainal - Leading the Way
Coach Aiman Zainal, a local fighter, martial artist and certified trainer, is the driving force behind AZMA Academy. After competing in the United States and representing Malaysia's Choi Kwang Do in Australia, Aiman pursued a life of martial arts as both an athlete and a coach. Since then, he has studied in 7 different martial arts and competed in 3 styles including Boxing, Kickboxing. and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a national champion.
With 19 years experience across various styles and a deep passion for empowering the martial arts scene in Malaysia, he has developed a unique approach that combines traditional techniques with modern teaching methods in hopes to produce future athletes and upstanding coaches with real combat experience. Thus, AZMA Academy was born.
At AZMA Academy, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can develop discipline, resilience, confidence, and grit under the guidance of Coach Aiman and our team of experienced instructors.
Head Boxing Coach
Ash Zainal - Bringing you Proper Boxing
Ash Zainal was introduced to martial arts at 7 years old, studying for 5 years under Al Hikmah Self Defense Academy, where he practised Mixed Martial Arts. Since then, he has looked toward boxing as a base and studied different styles of boxing - North American, South East Asian, and Eastern European. Ash’s philosophy is “If it works, use it. Just understand where it can be weak”.
From the year 2021, Ash has started coaching and cornering fighters competing in the Amateur Boxing circuit in Malaysia. Ash was the main cornerman in 6 total fights, where his fighters recorded a collective record of 4 wins and 2 losses.
Ash is now looking to develop fundamentals at AZMA Academy and cornering those willing to challenge themselves in the amateur circuit.
